Futūḥ al-Buldān

The Chief Scientific Editorial Board of the Tajik National Encyclopedia has published one of the most important sources on medieval history — Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyā al-Balādhurī’s book Futūḥ al-Buldān.

This work provides information about the emergence of Islam and the Arab conquests, and it is regarded as a unique source for the study of the history of our ancestors in the territories of the Sasanian Empire and Greater Khorasan, especially the regions of Balkh, Khuttal, Shuman, and other areas of present-day Tajikistan.

The book was transcribed from the Persian script into Cyrillic through the efforts of Nurmuhammad Amirshohi and Tojiddin Ghulomov, and was published in 2025 in high-quality print.
